Prayer for the happiness and well-being of children, to the Most Holy Trinity Holy Father, God before all ages! From You comes every gift, every good. I pray to You fervently for the children whom Your grace has given me. You gave them life, granting them an immortal soul, You reborn them through Holy Baptism, so that they, according to Your will, may inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. Keep them, according to Your goodness, until the end of their lives. Sanctify them with Your truth, so that Your name may be sanctified in them. Help me with Your grace to raise them for the glory of Your name and for the benefit of my neighbor, and give me the necessary means for this: patience and strength. Lord! Enlighten them with the light of Your wisdom, that they may love You with all their soul and with all their mind; plant in their hearts fear and disgust for all lawlessness, that they may walk in Your commandments; adorn their souls with all understanding, with diligence, with long-suffering, with honor; with Your justice protect them from slander, from vain glory, from abominations; sprinkle them with the dew of Your grace, that they may increase in virtues and holiness and grow in Your goodwill, in love and piety. May the guardian angel remain with them always and guard their youth from vain thoughts, from the deception of the fools of this world and from all cunning haunts. And if they ever sin against You, O Lord, do not turn Your face away from them, but be merciful, according to the multitude of Your mercies awaken repentance in their hearts, cleanse their sins and do not deprive them of Your goodness, but give them all that is useful for their salvation, protecting them from all illness, danger, need and sorrow, overshadowing them with Your mercy all the days of this life. O God! I pray to You: grant me to rejoice and be glad in my children and make me worthy to appear together with them at Your fearful Judgment and to say with shameless boldness: “Here I am and the children whom You have given me, O Lord!” Amen.
