When one call replaces 1,000
When one sales call replaces a thousand… I had some drive time today, which led to a great call with a guy here in the group. He’s in insurance and wanted to start finding ways to get leads flowing to him outside of just hitting the phone, making cold calls 8 hours a day. Currently, he’s doing what plenty of successful insurance guys are doing…using a power dialer to call multiple leads at once, and grabbing the one that answers. But the bottleneck of that system is that you still need to convince the person who picks up that you are the right person to spend their hard earned pesos with. He knew working with CPAs and tax professionals as referral partners could get him to his goals faster, without sacrificing all his time on the phone… (I’m never one to say to stop what’s already working for you…just enhance it until you can replace it.) He knew his product, he knew how the ‘language’ of tax professionals from his prior experiences, he just wanted to make sure all his dots were connected. Here’s the crazy part… His goal is to close under 10 deals within the next 12 months. It was time for the math… If he has a real conversation with 2 tax professionals every week for the next few months, even if he screws things up a bit as he goes, the odds he could speak to a single referral partnerships that could help him close most, or even all those deals is high. (I call this process the 4x4 method) Imagine replacing thousands of cold calls a month with one relationship that brings you leads who already trust you’re the real deal because THEIR own trusted resource recommends you. This is the power of referral partnerships and why after just a small amount of preparation, it just comes down to doing the same work you’re already doing, but with a small twist to drastically increase your leverage. Once it works once, it becomes your new superpower…but you have to be willing to take some action to get that momentum rolling before you’re unstoppable. BTW: the guy I spoke to? He already took the course and filled out his workbook. Our call didn’t change anything he already had planned, just added reinforcement that he was on the right path, and I got to share a few stories to clarify things around questions he had.
