Retention schedules as living artefacts
Retention schedules are often treated as static documents. In reality, they age alongside systems, processes, and regulatory expectations. RIM professionals constantly interpret rather than simply apply them.
This interpretive work is rarely acknowledged.
Questions
  1. Where does your retention schedule require interpretation most often?
  2. How do you document those judgements?
Action
  • Note one retention decision that relied more on experience than text.
