How to Rebel Educate - How to use this Community
Welcome to rebel educator! A community for challenging the status quo, non-traditional education, and evolution in education. This is a community of leaders and founders who are risk takers, question askers, and rebel educators! 1. Introduce yourself - and read the other introductions - make connections 2. Check the Calendar - Regular events like co-working lunches, Q&A sessions, and Rebel Founder calls, as well as guest speakers and special events are all listed on the calendar. You can import these directly to your calendar so you don't miss a thing! 3. Classroom is your resources space. Learn about innovative education companies, curriculum, discounts, special offers, and opportunities for leaders. Want to write a book? There's a resource for that. Want to start a microschool? There's resources for that too! Recordings of events will be there too. What are the events? 1. Q&A - A chance to ask questions about this community, about your burning questions, connect with others, and (hopefully) get the answers and ideas you seek 2. Co-working Lunch (if you're in the western US - otherwise it might be co-working time) - A chance to work in community with others. Maybe you want to brainstorm, we can open a room for you to ask questions and talk, or maybe you want to work quietly on a project, log in and do your work. No judgement, camera on or off, mic on or off, ask for feedback, or don't. Leadership can be lonely, do some work together. 3. Rebel Founders Call - A monthlyish call for leaders and founders. We discuss a different topic each session and then open up for time to have a "hot seat" question and community discussion. These are not recorded and confidentiality is expected. Bring your challenges, get community support, build your school. 4. Special Events/Guest Speakers - these will happen monthly or more. There will be emails and announcements, find the links in the calendar. Want to lead an event or speak on a topic? Let us know - we'd love to have your voice in the community.

Co-working Lunch Tomorrow!
It's co-working Wednesday! A working lunch (for those of us on the west coast - it may be later for you:) tomorrow! Join us to get some work done in community! I'd love to hear your new years goals and plans! If you have a specific question we can create breakout rooms for conversation, we can also ask the room for suggestions or share challenges. If you would like to be present but not have the background noise, feel free to turn off your volume, if you would like to be present and hear the conversation but not have everyone watch you work, feel free to turn off the video, for most of us, be present, ready to listen, participate and get some work done. There is no pressure, no judgement, just a space to create and work in harmony. A few other expectations: 1. Structured Schedule: We will start at noon and finish at 1 pm. We will open with quick introductions. Feel free to use the chat to connect with others as well as the zoom time. I am happy to facilitate individual breakout rooms for those that want to have more conversation. 2. Defined Goals: Set specific goals for your session to stay accountable and motivated. 3. Active Participation: Engaging with others through chat, video, or discussion, even if working independently, fosters a sense of community. 4. Respectful Environment: Creating a supportive atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas and feedback. This event is on our calendar and the zoom link is there to log in. See you tomorrow!
