LA Price Gouging Notice

General PSA because it came up in one of the "office hours" calls last week, I wanted to share this article about the CA Attorney General filing charges against an agent for price gouging - Attorney General Bonta Files Charges Against a Southern California Real Estate Agent for Price Gouging Eaton Fire Victims | State of California - Department of Justice - Office of the Attorney General.
Per this article - "California law – specifically, Penal Code section 396 – generally prohibits charging a price that exceeds, by more than 10%, the price a seller charged for an item before a state or local declaration of emergency. For items a seller only began selling after an emergency declaration, the law generally prohibits charging a price that exceeds the seller's cost of the item by more than 50%."
