Hi, my name is Athena Garcia!

I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona but have been living in Los Angeles for 10 years now! I love performing and doing almost anything involving the entertainment industry! I started off as a hip hop/break dancer (been dancing for 20 years) then started acting about 6 years ago. I went to college at the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles where I studied Acting for Film but also learned everything from filmmaking, to writing, and to producing there since I did the BFA program! When I graduated I went into stunt/film fighting training because I’ve always wanted to do an action film (acting and doing my own fight choreography). I’ve really love doing film fighting because it’s like dancing when learning fight choreography. I’m also a big time gym rat! I love going to the gym and doing crazy workouts haha!

I’ve written a few short films and I currently just finished writing my first Action feature film about a year ago (been working on it for almost 3 years) and it’s finally coming into fruition, we’re currently looking for funding (the hardest part haha) but this also lead me to open my production company for my films which are mostly action/drama films with the intent to make a difference, connect with others and highlight female empowerment, with some Spanish cultures.

I’m looking to GIVE these 3 things to the community:

Support for other artists in anything from writing, producing and/or just any questions people might have.
Assist in any network connections that may be useful/helpful for anyone
If anyone is interested in dance, I have lots of experience and have performed/trained professionally so I’d be happy to help with connections or questions with that as well!

I’m looking to GET these 3 things from the community:

Meet, collaborate and get out of my comfort zone by connecting with other like minded people
Learn more about how to get more auditions since I updated my headshots about a month ago, have been submitting like crazy but am not sure what I’m missing or what I can do better to breakthrough, especially not getting auditions with my acting agent when they’ve been submitting me.
Help be more informed with the industry news and events happening.
