Defending champions France look to retain title and equal recordThe French team are among the favourites at the EHF Euro 2026, and this year Les Bleus could make history.
They will attempt to retain their continental title, something they have never yet achieved, as they aim for a fifth European crown.
If Ludovic Fabregas' teammates reach the top step of the podium in Herning on 1 February, they will equal the record currently held by Sweden.
Guillaume Gille can count on a full squad to accomplish this mission. His team is brimming with talent such as Dika Mem and Élohim Prandi, who were already part of the team two years ago.
But Sweden certainly can't be counted out and will be banking on the experience of Albin Lagergren or Hampus Wanne to take them to another title.
Denmark, spurred on by their home crowd, will attempt to rectify an anomaly. The four-time reigning world champions, who have also reached the last three Olympic finals, notably winning two gold medals, haven't been European champions since 2012. An eternity for Nikolaj Jacobsen's team, who are accustomed to winning everything.
Germany, led by Juri Knorr, and fggSpain, inspired by Alex Dujshebaev, who will face each other in the preliminary round, also have high ambitions.
