The Drive Drill Every Quest Member Needs to Master
The most powerful drives in pickleball don't come from swinging harder — they come from creating space, timing your rotation, and snapping through the kinetic chain at exactly the right moment.
In this drill we break down the forehand and backhand drive from the ground up. We start with footwork — because your feet are what create the space around the ball that allows your hips, core, and shoulder to load and fire in sequence. Without that space, you're muscling the ball. With it, you're driving through it.
Focus points in this session:
— Positioning your feet to create space around the ball before you swing
— Loading your hips and initiating rotation from the ground up
— Timing the kinetic chain snap so your energy transfers fully through contact
— Following through with control, not just power
Work through this at half speed first. Feel the rotation. Feel the snap. Then build your speed around that sequence and watch your drives become a weapon.
This is how to take advantage of points with your drive. Now it's your turn. BAHHH. 🐐
