Interview help: designing a scalable API testing framework

Hi everyone,I had a job interview about two weeks ago where I was asked:

“How would you build a scalable testing framework for an API?”

I didn’t give a very good answer at the time. Does anyone have suggestions on how best to answer this type of question in an interview?
