3 Most Common Mistakes Athletes Make When Trying to Get Faster🤦‍♂️
Every athlete wants to be faster. So they run more. Sprint more. Condition more. And most of them never get faster. Here's why.
The biggest mistake? Spending all your time on cardio and zero time on force production. Speed is not a cardio problem. Speed is a strength problem. The fastest athletes in the world are also some of the strongest. You get faster by pushing harder into the ground, not by running more laps.
If you're always conditioning and never lifting for power, your speed plateaus. You get in shape but you don't get faster. And conditioning won't save you when someone blows by you on a route or a breakaway.
Add hip thrusts, trap bar deadlifts, and single-leg jumps to your training twice a week. Build force. Then apply it to your sprints.
Fast athletes aren't built on the track. They're built in the weight room.
