** A Note on Arabic Dialects **
As native Arabic speakers, many of us are comfortable with MSA. When it comes to dialects, we may be able to understand and explain dialects other than our own, but that’s generally the extent of our ability. An Arabic instructor teaching multiple Arabic dialects, is a myth.
Because an Arabic dialect is deeply tied to regional identity. To speak a dialect naturally, you need to learn it from someone from that country. The proverb agrees saying أعطِ الخبز لخبازه
As a native Saudi speaker, I only teach my dialect alongside MSA.
