AI Is Giving You Time.. What You Do With It Will Define You We live in a time where the people who are hip to the game can now issue a command and get work done in 20 minutes that used to take five hours. Completely wild. We’re talking white-collar, knowledge work.. actual results.. in minutes, from general-purpose AI agents. And sure, it’s imperfect. It needs babysitting. But it’s here.. which means our time is being freed. What do we do with this free time? What have we done.. in the past few years.. when we have a free minute? Open a new tab.. Scroll on the phone.. Step into another realm. If we're not careful.. this will become an exponentially bigger problem.. AI is giving us time and we're handing it right back to the machine. So instead of becoming more peaceful, more creative, more connected.. we’re becoming more addicted. Fragmented.. Anxious.. AI isn’t the problem. It’s the space it creates.. and how easily we fill it with noise. We used to say we didn’t have time. Now we do. And it’s making us mentally unstable. Here’s what I’ve been doing: when I fire off an agent request, I don’t immediately go find something else to do. If there’s another orthogonal task that fits.. sure, I’ll spin it up. But if not, I stay. I use those five minutes to pray, to think, to observe what’s going on inside. To practice gratitude. I choose mindfulness over mindless motion. I believe it’s changing me. I don’t think AI has to make us more robotic. It could make us more human.. if we let it. If we take the time it gives us and turn it into awareness, reflection, stillness.. This could actually be the turning point in our mental health crisis. Nobody’s talking about that part. But it’s real. 🚀 - James
