What is the First Word You Ever Learned in Another Language?
What was the first word you ever learned in another language? Don't hold back now 🤭
My first Spanish word was HOY. For real. I was 18, just arrived to live in Mexico with my older sister. Taking our first walk around Cancun, we came to a cinema billboard that said "HOY: (then the names of whatever movies were featured) We wondered aloud "Hey - what do you think HOY means?" And yup, we pronounced it WITH the "h" sound!
My first Italian word was cazz* hahaha, a word I came to learn has sooooo many uses (IYKYK!)
