Sayulita Wellness has run medically supervised plant medicine retreats on Mexico's Pacific coast for five years. More than 1,000 people have come through our doors carrying trauma, addiction, burnout, grief, and the quiet sense that something in their life stopped working. Most of them left with something they could not yet put into words.
Here is what we learned watching all of them: the ceremony is not where healing happens. Integration is. The weeks after are when an insight either becomes a changed life or fades into a story about a trip you once took.
Most people go home to nothing. No guide, no framework, no one who understands what they just went through.
