Today we’re focusing on the base layer — a simple but very important step.
Your goal here is just this:
cover the entire nail plate evenly with a thin, controlled layer.
Here’s what to remember:
1️⃣ If you’re building with gel
→ keep the base very thin.
It’s only for adhesion.
2️⃣ If you’re using colored bases
→ some soft, pastel or very pigmented ones bond better with a thin clear layer underneath.
I’ll show this in a separate lesson.
3️⃣ Even coverage matters
→ the whole nail plate should be covered — no empty spots.
✨ Tip:
If you want the base to apply easier and faster — choose a thinner, more liquid base.
Liquid bases level quicker and naturally flow into the right places, so they’re easier to work with than thicker formulas.

👉 Do you think you usually apply too much or too little base?
