I Think We Know Everything About This Research "Shutdown" Until the New Year
Here's my conclusion on everything we know for the research space, purely based on what's happened:
A lot of the big research companies are flash-saling and exiting the GLP-1 space because they believe Big Pharma will be enforcing their IP and patents—ensuring no one's stealing from their profit margins.
Important to note: All of these GLP sales are voluntary right now. These big companies are easy targets and they don't want to risk their businesses getting shut down in a massive legal war.
The smaller companies I've talked to plan to continue carrying products until they've been officially notified not to.
The Bottom Line:
Trust me, this isn't the end of research. You'll see fewer companies carry those main products and prices will likely creep up. However, we always find a way to pivot and we get better over time.
We'll all get through this, but I don't see much new information coming out until 2026.
