Ooops... Did it pass or not?
Ooops... Did it pass or not?
[Butterflies in your stomach]
For many electronics engineers, that’s exactly the feeling when they see a call from the EMC Test Lab.
How can you feel confident when you’re dealing with what seems like black magic?
That is the problem. Controlling electromagnetic interference is still seen as black magic rather than science.
The result is that many engineers keep failing EMC tests with their designs and get stuck in a costly re-spin cycle.
And when fixes are applied, they are often just guesses, not engineered solutions.
The few engineers who have truly mastered EMI control are the ones who planned for it from the start.
Your EMC test results are simply the outcome of how much attention you give to every detail of your PCB layout and system design.
It is the difference between choosing a PCB stack-up that passes the first time
or ending up with a bulky filter that does not fit in production.
In the end, mastering EMI control is a choice.
Do more (and cheaper) now, or do less (and pay more) later.
You always have the choice: prevent or fix.
To electromagnetic enlightenment,
Dario
P.S. If you are among those who prefer to prevent rather than fix at the last minute, here is the link to my academy, where we give you everything you need to make EMC a worry of the past.
