Learning God’s Will
Scripture: Psalm 143:10 (KJV)
“Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.”
Today’s Reflection
In this heartfelt plea from David, we see a deep desire for guidance and alignment with God’s purposes. Life often pulls us in many directions, filled with decisions and distractions that can lead us astray. Yet, David reminds us that true fulfillment comes from surrendering to God’s will. He acknowledges God as his personal Lord (“thou art my God”) and praises the goodness of His Spirit, which is always trustworthy and benevolent. The “land of uprightness” symbolizes a life of integrity, peace, and righteousness, far from the pitfalls of self-reliance.
Today, consider where you might be resisting God’s leading. Are there areas in your work, relationships, or habits where you’re forging your own path instead of seeking His? This verse invites us to pray for teachable hearts, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us step by step toward a more upright and God-honoring life.
Today’s Application
Take a moment to journal one specific decision you’re facing. Ask God to teach you His will in that area, and commit to one small step of obedience today, trusting in His good Spirit.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. Your Spirit is good and faithful, lead me into the land of uprightness. Help me to listen and follow Your guidance today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
