Research Notes: Origin Point, private research beta trials
A little behind-the-scenes from how we’re building Origin Point right now: we’re keeping this private by invite for a reason. The aim is not to make noise or gather more people for the sake of it, but to build the right ecosystem- one that can truly hold and carry the work forward with care, precision, and intention.
At the moment that means looking closely at sleep clinics, EEG and neurotech companies, biotech and health-tech partners, and a few space-adjacent companies and people who can bring real leverage beyond money: credibility, hardware, access, expertise, and network reach. The sponsorship side is meant to be strategic, not transactional.
Vanessa made a point that I think is exactly right: we need to keep the work rooted in real-world problems first- sleep, regulation, cognitive performance, and the deeper human needs underneath them - and let that be the bridge into space. That keeps the program grounded, fundable, and relevant, while still honoring the longer arc of where this is all meant to go.
That balance feels important to me: private, intentional, and selective on one side; practical, useful, and deeply human on the other. We want the right people in the ecosystem, not just more people. I’m honored not only by the curiosity surrounding the work and its theories, but by the opportunity to help build a beautiful and powerful ecosystem that nurtures the work and brings out its fullest potential.
