Hey everyone ā Gareth here.
Thought Iād share a quick wildlife travel moment that still makes me laugh.
A while back in South Africa, we came across a young elephant who had clearly decided it was Spa Day. No booking. No robe. No shame.
He walked straight into a mud wallow, scooped up a trunkful of sludge, and launched it over himself like he was auditioning for a LāOrĆ©al commercial called āBecause Iām Worth It⦠and Also Itās 42°C.ā
At one point he looked at us ā absolutely plastered in mud ā with the same expression you give someone who catches you eating peanut butter straight from the jar.A sort of: āYes, Iām doing this. No, I will not be taking questions.ā
š§ Beginner wildlife travel tip of the day:
If you ever feel awkward on a trip, just remember: Somewhere out there, an elephant is confidently wearing a full-body mud mask in public. Youāll be fine.
If you want more funny stories, beginner tips, or ideas for wildlifeāfriendly destinations, Iām happy to share them. Nature has a great sense of humour if you give it a moment.
