Most hitters have no clue how much their rib cage and pelvis positioning impact their swing.
This picture shows two drastically different setups;
β
one that creates power and stability
β one that kills it instantly
βοΈ What Youβre Seeing:
- Left Side (β
) β Neutral rib cage + pelvis alignmentβ The core is stacked, pressure is balanced, and the diaphragm + pelvic floor are working together.β This gives hitters 360Β° pressure, better control of their middle, and a more stable base to rotate from.
- Right Side (β) β Rib flare + anterior pelvic tiltβ The ribs lift, the pelvis dumps forward, and the connection between the two is βcut.ββ The athlete loses intra-abdominal pressure, leaks stability, and ends up rotating from their lower back instead of their middle.
π₯ Why It Matters in Hitting:
When your rib cage and pelvis are stacked:
- You move more efficiently through your swing
- You stay connected through the middle (no power leaks)
- You can breathe and brace properly
- You maintain consistent posture throughout your move forward and rotation
When theyβre not:
- Youβll fight posture changes
- Lose direction and control through contact
- Leak force instead of transferring it into the barrel
𧩠Hitter Cue:
βRibs down, pelvis under.β
Stack the middle. Create pressure. Rotate with intent.
π¬ Question for the Tribe:
When you set up in your stance, do you feel your ribs flared up or down?
Drop a π’ for stacked and controlled or π΄ for flared and disconnected.
