🍑 Glutes vs Quads 🦵🏼
One of the most common swing killers? Being too quad-dominant. If you’re constantly lunging or feel off balance, there’s a good chance you’re living in your toes instead of your heels.
Here’s why you should set up in your glutes, not your quads:
🔑 1. Glutes = Stability
Your glutes are designed to support and stabilize your pelvis. A glute-dominant setup helps you stay balanced and grounded through the swing.
🦵 2. Quads Drive You Forward (In a Bad Way)
When you rely on your quads, your weight shifts too far forward. That leads to lunging, early rotation, and poor direction.
📉 3. Ground Force Starts in Your Posterior Chain
You can’t create force from the ground if you’re not properly loaded into your glutes, hamstrings, and heels. Posterior chain = power chain.
🧠 4. Better Awareness = Better Adjustability
When you’re grounded in your glutes, you can feel the floor better. That helps you stay adjustable and react to different pitch locations.
✅ 5. Simple Fix: Heel Pressure + Butt Back
Feel more pressure in your heels. Slight hinge at the hips. Load your butt, not your thighs. That’s your foundation for connection.
