After the first class with Christian, I'm here to share how was this experience!
So, I wanted to learn how to play "O Rock Acabou" from Moptop (brazilian band) and Christian started by helping me to choose a path: base or lead guitar. Since I already knew the chords for the base guitar, I opted to study the lead guitar parts.
Through the class, he showed me each note on the frets, with the song playing in the background, which helped me to understand were the notes came from.
But the best part was the way he showed me how major scales (A and B for this song) were related to the chords and notes played throughout the entire song. For the first time since always, I was able to understand "WHY" the song sounded that good, and how things progressed.
In a more meaningful way, I feel like there is a good reason to learn major scales hahaha. I even remebered a song from The Smashing Pumpkins during his explanation about steps in the scale (complete mind blowing).
To sum up, it was awesome, I feel more confident to practise the knowledge I got. Feels like a good fuel to my curiosity and to keep the motion going!
Maybe next week I have more insights about music theory in songs I've been listening for a long time :D
