No audio? 🔇
Here’s some trouble shooting fixes if you’re having trouble with audio! This applies for all streaming platforms👍🔥
✅ Audio Not Playing on Stream – PC Troubleshooting
🎚️ 1. Check Your Audio Sources
Make sure your mic, desktop audio, and any other sources are added and active in your streaming software (OBS, Streamlabs, etc.).
Look at the audio mixer – are the volume bars moving?
Unmute all relevant audio channels.
🔌 2. Default Audio Devices
Go to your PC Sound Settings:
Right-click the 🔊 speaker icon in the taskbar > Sounds > Playback / Recording tabs.
Ensure the correct input/output devices are set as default.
Match these with your streaming software’s selected devices (Settings > Audio in OBS).
🎥 3. Streaming Software Settings (OBS, Streamlabs, etc.)
OBS:
Go to Settings > Audio
Check that your Desktop Audio and Mic/Auxiliary Audio devices are selected correctly.
Under Advanced Audio Properties, ensure nothing is set to "Monitor Only (mute output)" if you want it to be heard on stream.
🔊 4. Check Windows Volume Mixer
Right-click the volume icon > Open Volume Mixer
Make sure OBS/Streamlabs and any games, browsers, or music apps aren’t muted or set too low.
🎧 5. Capture Method
If capturing game audio, try using Desktop Audio instead of specific app audio.
For Discord or browser audio, make sure the app is using the same output device as OBS expects.
🧩 6. Audio Drivers
Update or reinstall your audio drivers.
Use Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > Right-click your device > Update Driver.
🔄 7. Restart Everything
Close OBS/Streamlabs, your game, Discord, browser, etc.
Restart your PC.
Relaunch everything and test audio again.
🧪 8. Run a Local Recording Test
Try recording locally (not streaming).
If audio works in the recording, the issue may be with your stream platform settings (Twitch, YouTube, etc.).
🌐 9. Check Streaming Platform Settings
Check your Twitch/YouTube dashboard:
Ensure there are no muted sources in stream preview.
Make sure your stream isn’t muted accidentally in browser.
🛑 10. Third-Party Software Conflicts
Disable any apps that take control of audio (Voicemeeter, NVIDIA Broadcast, Nahimic, etc.) and test again.
If you go through all of these and it still doesn’t work, I can help you troubleshoot deeper—just let me know your setup (streaming software, audio devices, what’s not being heard, etc.).
Let us know if none of this works, we will figure it out, we’re all in this TOGETHER👏
