Today’s Jumu'ah khutbah just completely reshaped how I’m looking at the next few weeks.
If you’re already feeling that pre-Ramadan anxiety - the pressure to do "everything" or the fear of falling behind - you need to hear this.
The Imam spoke about something so profound: Ramadan isn't a marathon of rituals; it’s a sanctuary of intention. We often walk into this month thinking we have to reach a point of absolute fatigue to "prove" our devotion. But the message today was clear - Allah doesn't want your burnout; He wants your heart.
What stayed with me:
- Intentionality over Activity: Every single step we take must be a conscious move toward Him. If we're just checking boxes while our souls are asleep, we're missing the point.
- The Power of the Few: It is better to take three steps that are deeply meaningful to you in your submission to Allah than a hundred steps that leave you feeling hollow.
- Quality is the Goal: Don't let the "fear of missing out" on every single prayer or gathering rob you of the beauty of the few you can do with true presence.
"Your Emaan isn't measured by how many rituals you finish, but by how many of those rituals actually finished the distance between you and your Creator."
I’m walking away from this Jumu'ah feeling so much lighter. This year, let’s stop chasing the exhaustion and start chasing the connection. Let’s make every Du'aa count.
May Allah allow us to reach Ramadan with hearts that are intentional, not just busy.
