How I'm Naming the Root Instead of Just Treating the Reactions.
Something I'm learning in my childhood trauma healing this week.
For most of my life, I treated the reactions. The anger. The shutdowns. The way I'd brace for someone to leave before they ever showed signs of leaving. I was fixing symptoms, never the source.
What I'm noticing now is that the symptoms quiet down as soon as I can name the root underneath them. I can't heal what I've never named. The naming itself is half the work.
Mine took years to identify. Yours might surface faster.
If you've started naming the root of yours, what's the first thing that came up?
