Iβm 40 years old, have two grown up children now; my son is 20 and currently studying at University and my daughter is 17 (almost 18) and a very talented writer and artist!
I am fully qualified SENCO & Assistant Headteacher with over 13 years teaching experience.
My daughter is neurodiverse (ASD and ADHD), meaning Iβve gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from the challenges and barriers we have faced throughout her educational journey!
π© Feeling as though you are constantly battling with professionals to ensure adequate provision and support for your child!
π΄ Tired of the struggles associated with EHCPβs or requesting assessment from Educational Psychologists and other specialist practitioners.
π Disappointed when people just donβt understand:
βShe looks fine to me!β
βSheβs really good and quiet in school!β
βWe donβt see any of those behaviours!β
π Exhausted with constantly feeling as though you are fighting a losing battle!
I would like to grow this community, and create a sanctuary for parents and carers facing similar challenges!
I am aiming to post helpful content and tailor personalised advice, guidance and support for struggling parents/carers, depending on individual needs and circumstances.
My big goal is to eventually offer online courses, templates, bespoke consultations, and whatever else might be required - who knows? π¬ππ₯°
Thank you for taking the time to read my extensive brain dump π€―π«£π oh, I forgot to mentionβ¦
I was diagnosed with combined type ADHD about 2-3 years ago π§ ππππ
My life makes sense now, and I think ADHD can be a superpower π¦ΈββοΈ and a curse π«£ however, we can save that for another day π¬π
