Sacred Ground
I have been working on a few songs. I thought to share this one.
I'd love to know what you think.

Planted my seeds in the store-bought ground
Waited for life but heard no sound
Eight dollar bag of poisoned earth
What happened to the soil's true worth?
Down the drain our waste all flows
To treatment plants where nothing grows
They kill the life with chemicals bright
Then sell it back as fertilized lies
We're drinking what we flushed away
Eating poison every day
Disconnected from the earth
Forgot our soil's sacred worth
There's a better way to grow
Ancient wisdom that we know
Composting cycles, life renewed
From waste to wealth, the old made new
Sacred Ground is in our hands
Healing soil, healing lands
Breaking free from toxic chains
Life returns when wisdom reigns
When wisdom reigns
Sewage sludge on vegetables growing
Pharmaceutical rivers flowing
CAFO waste in bags they sell
Creating agricultural hell
But our great-grands knew the way
Bucket systems, wood chips, clay
Carbon balance, natural flow
That's how healthy gardens grow
We're drinking what we flushed away
Eating poison every day
