Hey everyone!
I’ve noticed a lot of people think tech repair is "too complex" or requires a PhD in engineering. The truth? Most common issues—like battery drains or cracked screens—follow a very specific, repeatable process.
I just put together the new curriculum for Mr Fix Academy in Burke, VA, and I wanted to share the 3 stages we use to take someone from "clueless" to "technician":
- The Safety Foundation: Understanding static discharge and safe disassembly (especially for the kids!).
- The Diagnostic Mindset: Using basic tools to identify the real problem before opening the device.
- The Pro Workflow: Using tools like ultrasonic cleaners and microscopes for those "impossible" water damage cases.
We’re officially opening doors for our next cohorts:
- Kids (7–12): Building circuits and robots.
- Teens (13–17): Our 8-week Beginner Repair Track ($899).
- Adults: Advanced diagnostics and Face ID restoration.
If you’re in the Northern Virginia area and want to get your hands on some gear, we’re located at 9302 Old Keene Mill Rd, Burke.
Would anyone be interested in a "Tool Checklist" for beginners? Happy to share what we use in the lab if it helps!
