Hi everyone,
I am a new member of Skool and am pleased to join this community.
My name is John Mogi.
I often describe myself as a "white magician"—
a title I embrace because my work focuses on using symbolic tools for healing, clarity, and personal transformation rather than simple divination.
I have received permission from Rachael to share a bit about my lifelong project, which is finally coming to fruition. This work is the natural evolution of a novel series I began over 20 years ago, rooted in my personal experiences with the Rainbow Gatherings in Israel and Italy.
The Vision: The Hidden Garden
The project is a multifaceted ecosystem designed to address what I call the "Inherent Wound" of existence—our sense of fragmentation and disconnection.
My goal is to move from "Male Creation" (singular focus) toward "Harmonic Creation," where shadow and light are integrated into a whole.
The project currently consists of several interconnected pieces:
- The Twin Tarot System: A dual-deck system featuring the Sunlight Tarot (the path of active manifestation and healing) and the Moonlight Tarot (the path of witnessing and honoring the shadow). While I have also conceptualized the Dawn deck (scientific laws and physics) and the Twilight deck (quantum paradoxes), I am currently focusing on the primary Sun and Moon relationship.
- The Historical Correction: Inspired by the work of Eileen Connolly, this project is a "historical correction" to traditional tarot. I am replacing the often grotesque or fatalistic imagery of older decks with a "White Magic" approach—psychologically empowering images that treat the cards as a mirror for the present rather than a tool for fortune-telling.
- Lili’s Curious Guide to the Sunlight: More than a manual, this is a narrative field diary and guide to lucid dreaming. It follows the character Lili as she navigates "The Veil" between consciousness and the dream world.
- The Hidden Garden RPG: A meditative, "narrative tile-builder" game. Instead of fighting monsters, players navigate the "Maze of the Ego" and use the cards to physically construct a path toward self-discovery.
The Roadmap
My ambition is not just to print a deck and move on. I am building toward an open-source, community-based tarot project. While that is a complex long-term goal, my immediate focus is on three distinct crowdfunding campaigns to bring these initial visions to life.
the cards, and the mechanics—represents an initial "rough sketch." As I move from AI-assisted concepts to final production, I will be seeking talented illustrators and writers to collaborate on refining this universe.
I look forward to connecting with you all and hearing your thoughts on how we can use narrative and art to rebuild our "inner towers" from the inside out.
Joining the Tarot Stories Community
Beyond my own project, I am eager to become an active and contributing member of the Tarot Stories community. I’ve spent over two decades living and breathing these symbols, and I’m here to share my ideas, engage in your discussions, and assist fellow creators in any way I can. Whether it’s brainstorming lore, discussing symbolism, or providing a second pair of eyes on a project, I’m happy to grab a shovel and help you tend to your own "garden" here.
Best,
John Mogi
