How do you view discipline? I got this wrong for years.
I just read this post in 's community by @Jaydian Concepcion "Motivation is a guest. Discipline pays the rent."
Here's another one I love: "Discipline brings freedom." Another way of saying it is that the path to freedom is discipline.
I personally struggled with discipline for years, not wanting to be constrained. I resisted surrendering to discipline as if it was a limitation. Boy did I have it WRONG.
This is precisely WHY i've created my Purpose Activation ritual, and why I teach it to my clients (business owners and career builders).
Whatever result we want (goal, outcome, etc.) - ask what are the habits that would make realizing/achieving that goal/outcome INEVITABLE?
And after 29 years in business, nothing has been more effective for me, than activating my purpose as part of my morning routine, where I:
  • read my purpose statement
  • read WHO I serve
  • read all the ways I serve them
  • and most importantly...I read my 80 reasons WHY living my purpose is a MUST.
This morning routine of activating my purpose and especially the last part (reading the reasons WHY living my purpose is a MUST) is the way I use discipline to cause, unleash and command motivation on-demand. It's my krobar.
It give me an enormous amount of energy, drive and focus - that protects me throughout my day - so that when the hard that is part of life shows up - it's more of a speedbump I giggle at as I hop over it and handle it.
Let me know in the comments, if you'd like me to create a course here teaching you my purpose activation process.
