Mitchell is an NZPGA Teaching Professional with a lifelong connection to golf. He began playing at five and by twelve was selected for the Auckland Development Squad. At sixteen he entered the golf industry, building a strong foundation in customer service, practice habits, and player development.
After a break from competitive play between 13–19, his passion returned while working at Golf Warehouse in Ellerslie. He later improved at Titirangi Golf Club, reaching a scratch handicap and competing in tournaments. Mitchell completed his NZPGA traineeship, focusing on coaching and the science of teaching. Mentored by Master Professional Gareth Winslow and coach Jacques Nortje, he developed a deep coaching philosophy.
Influenced by his father, leading mental performance coach David Niethe, Mitchell integrates mental strategies into his coaching. He focuses on helping players build confidence, manage pressure, improve focus, and develop strong routines to perform more consistently.
