Subject: A Request for Your Prayers and Support

Hi everyone,

I'm writing to you all today in the hope of receiving your prayers and positive thoughts. We are facing a rather difficult and complex situation.

This past Saturday, I left Eastern Ukraine and have since made it into Poland. My wife, Lucy, departed later that same night and is currently at the Ukrainian border with my stepson, Shania, as we are trying to get him out of the country and over to the UK.

We believed that the documentation required for his visa—which we are confident we have—would be a matter of hours to process. However, we have just been informed that it is now taking up to five days. This creates an extremely tight and worrying timeline, as his UK visa expires at midnight this Thursday, the 13th.

Complicating matters further, my car is booked on a ferry to the UK on Wednesday night. If the visa is not sorted by tomorrow morning—which seems very unlikely—I will have to leave to make that crossing. In that case, Lucy and Shania will have to get a flight back to the UK, either on Thursday lunchtime or the last flight out of Krakow at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday night, which lands in Manchester at 10:00 p.m., to finalize the visa requirements.

It's frustrating that the five-day processing estimate doesn't align with our urgent deadline, and you would hope that a situation like this at the border could be resolved more quickly.

I will be home on Thursday evening., and then I will have to go and pick them up on Friday morning from Manchester.
