I share weekly prayer to my sister’s church group weekly. Thought this may bless someone here also.
Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Reflection:
Today’s message sits like a warm blanket over the heart
God does not wait for you to be perfect before He shows up. He meets you exactly where you are, emotionally, mentally, spiritually.
Many people wake up and feel like they must “fix themselves” before they pray…
They think they must be stronger, more disciplined, more healed, more spiritually mature…
But scripture reminds us that God draws closest when we feel our weakest.
Brokenhearted doesn’t mean you’re shattered , it means you’re open.
Crushed in spirit doesn’t mean you’re defeated , it means you’re ready to receive.
Sometimes the weight of life feels like too much…
A memory resurfaces, a disappointment hits hard, or loneliness settles in.
But this verse becomes a doorway:
You don’t have to carry it alone. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever.
The closeness of God is not something you have to earn,
it’s something you simply allow.
Let today’s beginning be gentle pull.
Let God meet you right in the middle of whatever you feel.
Not after you “get yourself together”
but right there, in the exact place you are standing.
There is a surrender that comes with this acknowledgement. A feeling of peace and joy. Feel it - Feel God - Hear the whisper
I order your steps. Allow this ocean to guide you through the storm the big waves. Just surrender to God today and allow the wave of life to pass by. It will not last forever.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for meeting me in every season of my heart.
Thank You for drawing near when I feel heavy, tired, unsure, or overwhelmed.
Teach me to trust Your closeness, even when I cannot see it.
Wrap me in Your peace and remind me that I am never walking alone.
Let Your presence guide my steps, quiet my fears, and strengthen my spirit.
Today, I surrender my burdens and receive Your love.
Amen.
