Lost in translation 😅
I’d love to know an expression in your first language that cannot be translated literally into English.
I’ll go first!
🇮🇹 “Conosco i miei polli.”
🇬🇧 “I know my chickens.”
It means: “I know what kind of people they are, so I can predict what they’re going to do.”
Every time I translate it literally as a joke in English, people look at me as though I’m an alien. 🤣
