Renaming semantic model columns programmatically
Inspired by the Tabular Object Model notebook and Youtube video featuring Michael Kovalsky, I wrote a notebook to programmatically rename columns in a semantic model based on a set of rules appropriate to our gold layer and model. I thought that some of you here might find it useful.
The processing is explained in the first cell of the attached notebook.
If you want to use the notebook, I suggest creating a test semantic model to try it out on first.
I suggest running it with read_only=True initially, and looking at the output to see how the column names would be changed.
When you're happy with that, I suggest putting the name of a single table in the tables list, setting read_only=False, running that, and then checking that the semantic model was changed how you expected.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post them here.
