New Feature. Support for Org Apps in Pro Workspaces (Preview)
Microsoft Fabric has rolled out Org Apps support in Pro workspaces, now available in Preview. This update marks a major step toward democratizing advanced app experiences across broader user tiers—not just Premium.
🧩 What Are Org Apps?
Org Apps are the next evolution of Power BI workspace apps, offering:
- Multiple apps per workspace
- Custom navigation experiences
- Inclusion of new item types like notebooks and semantic models
- Git integration for version control
- Deployment pipelines for CI/CD-style app management
🚀 What’s New with Pro Workspace Support?
Previously, Org Apps were limited to Premium workspaces. Now, with Pro workspace support, users with Power BI Pro licenses can:
- Create and publish Org Apps from Pro workspaces
- Share apps with broader audiences using audience targeting
- Leverage combined navigation for a streamlined UX
- Include paginated reports and manage access via Org App permissions
This opens up powerful customization and distribution capabilities to smaller teams and organizations without Premium capacity.
