Avoid the Online pearson vue test!!

I have had the most frustrating experience sitting my DP-600 test which I subsequently failed, its even more frustrating as I scored 627 out of 700 and could have potentially passed...

So, first of all, the software used for the proctored exam 'onVue' is terrible, Ive got 3 computers at my disposal, one PC which is my work machine and I cant install onVue onto it. 2 macbook pro's, one is slightly older, but runs well and is too old to run the program, the last one is a 1 year old MBP that can run the software. (id hate to be someone in a worse position with lesser machines!)

Issues:

- the software asks for high level "control your machine actions" which can cause issues connection to the web cam and other devices

- the software is terrible, it didn't connect to my internal webcam, so I had to use my Dell external usb one (again lucky for me!)

- the software/test locked up 4-5 times during the exam, forcing me to contact the proctor, and restart my machine. 4 TIMES!!

the person proctoring you is not one person, I spoke to 4 different people in the chat, and at times, each required NEW views of my workspace, and were slow to help on technical issues.

this all cost me valuable time, I can estimate that of the 4 restarts and tech support I lost at least 5-8mins of my precious time.

as it turned out, I ran out of time in the exam and missed a few questions.

So, had there been no issues with the software, proctors, downtime and such would I have completed all the questions? probably.

Would this have tipped my score up to 700? almost certainly, I had to rush the last 20 mins of the exam to get it finished and that probably cost me on not reading questions fully.

So my advice, for anyone taking the DP-600 or any other tests for microsoft for that matter, is avoid the onVue and peason vue online experience like the plague, this has really made the experience horrible for me and I would never consider doing an online test with them again.
