Hey gang, So I've been low key for a while. The reason?: MSWindows10 is ending support (security updates) September this year. MS solution is to upgrade to MS Windows 11 for free. Problem is Windows 11 has spyware, unsollicited screenshot , keyloggers and AI that you can't shut-off. I can't live with that. OSX has a different philosophy: an all-seeing eye that keeps you in an unpenetrable fortress. But I never liked BigBrother so...... I'll be switching to Linux. This will have me return to my first DAW which was Reaper. So my Ableton 11 Suite license (downloadable with all packs) and my Push2 is for sale FYI ( Inbox for details). Linux's Ubuntu Studio enjoys a good reputation. Even though wrappers like Wine offers to make Windows app work on Linux, they introduce a new level of potential snafus or glitches. For simple apps Wine maybe ok, but I would not useit on an elaborate programs like Ableton, specially for live performance. I'll be in the minority camp, but it's a challenge that i'll take head on. Keep making the music. I'll see you once i submerge form the backups and testing. Rob 🙂
