This community exists to restore the African diaspora's sacred connection to the Earth, through Afrocentric wisdom, restorative nature practice, and botanical plant work. At the center of everything we do is one idea: deep reciprocity. The Earth has always given to us. Here, we practice giving back, in attention, in gratitude, in care.

What you'll find here

🌱 Black Joy Matters: Restorative Nature Journaling — Monthly sessions of guided journaling, live communal sharing of positive nature experiences, and a closing letter of gratitude to a plant, place, or element that moved you that month.

📖 Afrocentric Wisdom Book Club — We're grounding ourselves in African and African diasporic ecological wisdom, starting with Black Earth Wisdom by Leah Penniman — soulful conversations with Black environmentalists on our ancestral relationship to land and water.

🪴 Creating an Afro-Botanical Earth Altar (Indoors) — A hands-on practice of building a personal, plant-centered altar space at home — a tactile way of tending sacred connection to the Earth, season by season, from wherever you are.

I'm Sakereh — a Certified Permaculture Designer, GAIA Sacred Plant Medicine Apprentice, and digital artist. As a Black Earth Intuitive, I've found deep solace in natural spaces. As a Black woman, I've also found them challenging to navigate, from experiences of racism outdoors to the absence of Afrocentric ecological thought in the spaces I've moved through. This community is the space I wished I'd had.
