HELP NEEDED IN AFTER EFFECTS

I need help with roto scope in after effects. I want to separate the subject from the background. Then color grade the background and color correct the subject and then render the final product

I can get it to the color correction part but then I get lost

How can I do this or is there someone who has a tutorial?

There are many tutorials online but the problem is that they are tutorials for someone who’s already well-versed in premiere pro or after effects so the creator that made the tutorial leaves out very important steps to someone who is new to after effects and if you miss one critical step or you don’t know how to do One simple thing that they have glossed over, completely lost and frustrated
