i failed to register a free domain name how can i register

actually im working under dreamhostingdomaine name (ghiman1.dreamhosters.com) when i was paying for my hosting account, i decided to posspond the registration of my personal domain name , since i did not know how it works. since then im unable to register a domain name. My question is that how can i solve this problem, because actually my domain is presented like this and it does not make sens (ghiman1.dreamhosters.com)
