Apply for a scholarship to The Profitable Engineer
Hey everyone, thanks to those who joined us live at the open day for The Profitable Engineer! It was super inspirational and thanks again to @Kevin Koelzer, @Sally Whitham and @Damian Baca for sharing their stories. If you missed it, you can catch the replay here. 🚨 We announced on the webinar that we are awarding a full ride scholarship and multiple partial scholarships (worth half of tuition) this month for The Profitable Engineer. If you're interested in learning more, start by watching the replay above for all the details, then apply for the scholarship here: mastering.com/scholarshiptpe Even if you don't think you'll get it, it's worth a shot! Applying doesn't guarantee you a scholarship, but you won't know if you don't try. We'll be reviewing everything over the weekend and early next week, so ideally submit your application by the end of this week. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions about how the program or the scholarships work. Excited to be working with more of you inside the program! (For those who don't know, The Profitable Engineer is our career and business program designed to help you make a part-time or full-time income from music) Cheers, Rob

What color is your aura?
I have a vivid memory of this girl i went to high school with, who claimed being spiritually inclined. One day after class, we were with a group of classmates, and she said she could read people’s auras (forgive me if anything doesn’t make sense, maybe i’m misremembering it.) She went one by one, looking at my classmates for a second, telling giving them their colors. I remember being in a state of somewhat disbelief/awe. I really wanted to be read as yellow, because at the time I was infatuated with sunflowers, and the yellow aesthetic. Then boom. she giggles, while she shades her eyes from the sun to look up at me “green!” I was confused, and not sure what to make of it. What color green? I didn’t know if that mattered, but why did I get that sort of reaction to mine? And then the memory fades. Or at least what’s relevant, of it. The funny thing is, Green’s my favorite color now. Preferably darker shades. But it’s just such a sensible color to me. I wonder if I embraced it, or if I just changed my favorite color.
Gain staging question
Now that I finally figured out how to adjust the input gain on individual tracks I have a question. In the "Setting up a mix" he says to gain stage the individual tracks to between -20 and -10db. Does that mean I should shoot for a peak of around -15db or try to get the loudest parts as close as I can to -10db as possible without going over?
