I was at a meeting where the leader couldn't attend, and I surprised myself by raising my hand to lead the discussion. Although I’ve never been trained as a leader, a quick chat with ChatGPT helped me come up with some discussion questions, and I led what I believe was a very productive conversation.
Thankfully, the other members stepped up to help me along the way. At the end, I received a round of applause and was even asked if I would like to take on this role as a job with them!
I'm proud of myself, and I believe that building this community - perhaps even considering myself the "village mayor" - and practicing networking and communication contributed to my willingness to step up and take charge of the meeting.
What’s something you’ve learned that surprised you and prompted you to embrace a new role?
