Launching a low ticket offer without audience

I'm interested in launching a low ticket offer and don't have an audience. I know there's a few resources on list building, but I want to experiment with launching fairly quickly and am wondering if it's advisable to run ads for a low ticket offer to cold audiences (no upsells or premium offering).

I'm going through the Launch Your Digital Product workshop now and am thinking of watching the training on running profitable ads after. Is this the best way to learn how to run ads as a beginner? Are there folks who are finding success this way or is everyone building lists, creating content to guide people to their offers, etc?
