10 AI Prompts Every Creative Maker Needs
Copy each prompt, fill in the brackets, and paste into Claude, ChatGPT, or any AI tool. These come from real use in my jewellery brand and workshop prep.
1. Write a product description that actually sells
"I make [product] using [materials and technique]. Write a product description for [specific item] that appeals to [target customer]. 150 words, mention the craft process, end with a call to action. No generic luxury clichés."
2. Five Instagram captions from one product
"I just finished making [describe piece]. Write 5 Instagram captions, each from a different angle: (1) the making process, (2) the materials story, (3) the emotional meaning, (4) a question to the audience, (5) a short story about why this piece was made."
3. Rewrite your Etsy listing for search
"Here is my current listing title and description: [paste yours]. Rewrite it for Etsy search. Use the words a buyer types, not the words a maker uses. Keep my brand voice."
4. Price your work and explain the value
"I make [product] that takes [X hours] and uses materials costing [£X]. My customer is [describe]. What is a fair price range and how do I justify the premium in my listing copy?"
5. Four weeks of content ideas
"I am a [product type] maker who posts 4 times a week. Give me 4 weeks of content ideas covering: making process, finished product, behind the scenes, and one educational post per week."
6. Write any business email in 60 seconds
"Write an email to [supplier/venue/partner] about [specific request]. Professional but not corporate. Short, specific, one clear action at the end."
7. New collection brainstorm
"I make [product] with this design direction: [describe]. Suggest 5 new collection concepts I have not made before. For each: theme, 3 piece ideas, target occasion, and one unique selling point."
8. Your website FAQ page
"I make [product] and sell online. Write 8 FAQ answers covering: shipping, custom orders, care, returns, materials, pricing rationale, gift wrapping, sustainability."
9. Handle a difficult customer message
"A customer sent me this: [paste message]. Write a calm, professional reply that acknowledges their concern, explains my policy, and offers a resolution. My returns policy is [describe]."
10. Turn one idea into a full launch plan
"I want to launch [new product or collection] in [timeframe]. My audience is [describe]. Give me a 4-week launch plan including: content, emails, a launch day post, and a follow-up message for people who did not buy."
