One of the fastest ways to build trust is to share responsibility.
Instead of: "Here's what we're doing."
Try: "Who wants to lead the team meeting today?"
Instead of carrying every problem yourself: "I need help thinking through this. Can we brainstorm some solutions together?"
And before making a decision: "Does everyone feel we've considered this from all angles? ""Is there anything we're leaving out?"
People support what they help create.
When people feel heard, they become more engaged. When they become more engaged, they take greater ownership. And when they take ownership, teams perform better.
Leadership isn't always having the answers.
Sometimes it's creating space for others to contribute theirs.
