What's one thing you refuse to settle for ever again?
After my divorce, I eventually started dating again. It didn't take me too long to realize that the dating scene had changed. And after more than 20 years of marriage, the pickings were slim—even the language had changed. Have y'all ever heard the term "SITUATIONSHIP' before? Once I learned what that meant, I went along with it...for a while.
It didn't take long to realize what being in situationships was doing to me. My self-esteem was already low, and settling for something half-real made it even worse. I had to face the truth: I'm a commitment girl. I don't do half-love, half-effort, half-presence.
I will never again allow someone to treat me like an afterthought or their "something to do." I know my worth now.
