I have probably about 50 or so stem butts to work with that fruited from my Morchella importuna grow and I want to try some stem butt propagation. I've used this method with several other decomposer species (wine caps, blewits, oysters, etc) and wonder if I can pull this off with morels just by transfering stem butts to a new media.
For this planter, I put some compost in the base then covered with a pretty thick base of native clay (which is what is the base in my current grow). I planted a mango seed (because why not), covered the clay with a layer of cardboard just like I did with my importuna grow, placed the stem butts and finished with wood chips. Will know how this did in about a year. Fingers crossed for Morel and Mango!
