Adviser asks: Always looking at ways to be more efficient - I was wondering how many of you have clients complete their own fact finds ahead of time?
I have tried it in the past and found it to be somewhat hit and miss to be honest - mainly miss with clients often postponing appointments because they didn't have time to get it done.
I have been debating on whether asking them to do a mini factfind - or sending it in bite size chunks ahead of the first meeting etc. would be sensible. Another option would be to have a para-planner call them and complete it for me.
But then I wonder if it's a false economy saving that time as the factfind is often a prompt for conversations. (Though I could just review it at the beginning of the meeting)
We have loads of 'systems' we could use to get it done, but thinking about the client experience here... and if most people fail to do it then it becomes a pain.
